What are the lines, the boundaries for insanity? When do we know someone is insane? How do we know someone is normal? Is there a precise description to insanity? Or is it just something people know by looking at others? What is insanity? A feeling? An emotion? A state of mind? A way of living? Does anyone have the right to state that someone is insane, just because that person thinks differently or is different by certain standards? Nobody knows for sure but everyone tends to think they do.
Spin madly around, look up in the sky and stare at the infinite blueness above you. Then stop and look around you. People's faces blur, the dizziness is incredibly frustrating, the world around you seem like a chaotic place, you feel like you were locked into some kind of a room, filled with insanity, because you can't make sense out of what you see. Colours mix, people mend, and shapes dance across your mind, loud sounds, and voices are echoing in your ears. A chaotic state of your mind
That is a form of insanity. When you don't see "sane" things. But then, what about insane people? Why are they called insane?
According to Wikipedia: "Insanity, craziness or madness is a spectrum of behaviours characterized by certain abnormal mental or behavioural patterns. Insanity may manifest as violations of societal norms, including becoming a danger to themselves and others, though not all such acts are considered insanity. In modern usage insanity is most commonly encountered as an informal unscientific term denoting mental instability, or in the narrow legal context of the insanity defense. In the medical profession the term is now avoided in favour of diagnoses of specific mental illness such as schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders."
Stupid scientific words to describe something like this. It's insane! Oops. I just used the word. Why? I used it, because I described something that sounds fishy to me. Something that doesn't sound right. That is against my understanding, abnormal to me, doesn't make much sense or I just simply don't agree. Insane was just a choice of words to show my thoughts on a certain subject.
If I started talking about how to gut a fish and then slowly start to get at how lovely the sight of a person's body would be, opened up showing the insides, would you say I'm insane? Probably. Serial killers, paedophiles, or mentally retarded people are all considered insane. But why? Is it because they are different? Or because their thoughts are so different from ours? But, then again, everyone's thoughts are different. Some are hiding them, some don't know how to express them and some do. I, for example, consider myself weird, sometimes insane. Because I like to do stupid stuff, but for my age, they are not usual. But who cares?! That's me. We are all living in an insane world. We are all surrounded by unusual people, we must make choices and some options are considered insane. Sometimes you just have to be a little insane to live in this chaotic world.
So what is insanity? Insanity is all the unusual, weird things in this world that are considered different. Insanity is not necessarily a negative term. It's a term to describe unusualness, strangeness or just the fact that someone or something is different from our views.
We are all living in a chaotic, insane world. Locked inside our insanity bomb, created by our rules, laws and customs, created by us, ready to explode. The world itself is insanity and the fact that we can live in it somehow is insane.
